A little information about our seamstress:

This is Amy at age 3 sewing.

Amy has 39 years of sewing experience and provides our brides, bridesmaids, mothers, and prom girls with the finest alterations and custom sewing.  Amy is able to custom make any type of gown or flower girl dress for any hard to fit girls or when you can't find exactly the right dress.

Getting Alterations

Alterations are completed by appointment only.  There are certain days that are set up for meeting with customers, the rest of her days are spent completing the alterations.  You will need to call the store to make an appointment to meet with Amy, at your initial fitting you will discuss what work needs to be done to your gown.  You will need to ensure that you have the exact bra, shoes and any other undergarments (corset or spanx) that you plan to wear on your occasion day.    Any alterations needing to be completed within the month of your event will be subject to an extra charge due to needing to fit the project in at the last minute, and there is no guarantee that she will be able to fit you in if it is to close to your event.

Cost of Alterations:  The cost your alterations depends on what changes need to be made and how long it will take for them to be completed. 

How long will alterations take?:  The first fitting needs to be done well in advance of your event (a few months is optimal).  The length of time before you have your gown back is determined by what need to be done to the dress, and how many dresses are in line before yours.  Your final fitting should be completed about 2 weeks before your occasion date if possible.

Does Amy do outside alterations?:  Amy will complete alterations on dresses bought at other stores.  There are a few factors that will be considered before accepting the project:  Outside alterations are done only after in-store alterations are completed, so time is a huge factor to whether or not it can be accepted. Another factor is the quality of the garment, gowns purchased at the mall or dresses made from inferior quality fabrics may not stand up to having alterations done.  If this is the case, will not accept responsibility of completing alterations if there is a chance the dress will be less than perfect after alterations.  Be aware that dresses bought outside of Happily Ever After, will be subject to extra cost for alterations.
